Southsea Marina to see the arrival of a new pump out and waste disposal facility

Southsea Marina will soon benefit from the arrival of a new pump out and waste disposal facility which will provide the marina with an efficient means of disposing of sewage from boats in a safe and sanitary manner.

The new facility will be available for the start of the next boating season. It will be easy to use and conveniently located on the holding pontoon by the fuel bay.

The new pump out and waste disposal facility will be better for the environment as it will effectively vacuum the waste from a boat's holding tank into the pump out facility and into the main sewage pipe as opposed to being deposited in the marina or at sea, thus reducing the potential for health hazards and damage to the environment.

Southsea Marina Manager, Rupert Bremer welcomed the arrival of the facility, commenting, "I am pleased that we have been able to respond to customer demand for this facility and feel great that we are doing our bit for the environment." There will be no charge for berth holders from any Premier marinas, however there will be a small charge for visitors to contribute to the maintenance of this service.
