About Rachel Holland
I started working with Boatshed Port Solent in March 2022.
I have loved boats since I was a child. My parents owned a Westerly then I had a Dart 15. As many people do, I lost touch with sailing for a little while then when I moved to Portsmouth over 15 years ago, I completed my competent crew on a 40ft Jeanneau. I had a great time and we even got some lovely weather in the Solent. I pursued the warmer climate and have done some flotilla sailing in the Med and Greece and have owned ribs in the UK.
Immersing myself for the last 15 years living and working by the sea is a dream come true, everyday I do my power walk along the beach breathing in the fresh sea air.
What did you do before working with Boatshed?
I co owned a commercial diving company and managed that for 13 years.
What attracted you to become part of the Boatshed team?
I have known and liked the Boatshed website for a long time and more recently bought a boat through them which triggered my thought to work with them. I love boating and meeting people so learning a little about them and their boating experiences means I'll be able to help them find the right boat.
Are you a motorboater or a sailor?
Definitely a sailor but quite like Ribs
What is your most memorable boating experience?
Sailing round the Island for charity!
