Well, last year I said “I wonder if it will rain as much as it did last year?” Quite enough said I think! So here we go, into 2017, and Boatshed Port Solent is growing! We now have a new agent to help Ian look after our ever-expanding portfolio of great boats for sale! James Gould will be working all over the patch, he is a Portsmouth Harbour Pilot and experienced yachtsman, so has plenty of knowledge on all things nautical. Have a look at our contact page to read more about James
I still stand by my original sentiment – this job isn’t a job, it’s a way of life. The great bonus is meeting some really marvellous people – boat buyers and sellers alike, all of us benefit from a love of all things nautical, and I’ve even seen the odd surveyor break into a smile!
Boatshed Port Solent is still whizzing along on the Eastern side of Portsmouth Harbour, from Wicor in the West right down to Gunwharf Quays and Camber Quay, and we are even helping out down at Southsea and Eastney in the South-east.
Look out for my truck; it'll be out and about by the marinas and boat yards: Port Solent, Wicor, Portchester, Gunwharf Quays,Southsea Marina - in fact anywhere on the Eastern side of Portsmouth Harbour.Sadly the old one has had to be replaced, but I now have a shiny new blue one! Stand by for a photo once the sign writing is all done! Spot the truck and I won't be far away!
Winter Sailing - I'd recommend it to anyone! You get the water all to yourself and even have time to finish your tea before you have to tack out of somebody's way! I try to leave my boat in the water during the winter and get the most value out of her. Winter is a great time to sell your boat - or even change it for a bigger one, so give me a ring and we'll go down to Port Solent and see what we have that may suit you.

I have just completed the sale of my Sea Ray 230, using the broker services of Boatshed Port Solent, and Ian Dawes in Particular.
My boat has been moored at Port Solent, and Ian has maintained a very close interest in the preparation, advertising, viewing and administration of the sales process...throughout that period, Ian has kept me constantly up to date on the state of the market, the value of my boat, similar boats for sale, and in particular chasing up interested parties.
I have never used a broker before, and was recommended to use Boatshed, who have been totally professional but friendly over the whole exercise, and never let me down in any way. I recommend their services without any hesitation.
I just want to thank you for the attention you have given to the sale of N*ri.
You have kept me informed all along which was much appreciated. My husband and I had a total of 18 boats over last 50 years, and we have come across all sorts of brokers! So I was much impressed with your hard work. All the best, SH.
I would like to point at that Ian Dawes was excellent all the way through, he is an asset to your business. Nothing was to much trouble and he spent a great amount of time on making sure all went smoothly
