Well 2011 has been up and down like a fiddler’s elbow! We battled through the winter snows, and managed to list and sell more boats than winter 2010; we even had to break the ice on the Marina at Port Solent to get out for a sea trial!
The spring thaw brought in lots of business, and the area around Southsea and Eastney has seen some great developments. I really feel at home around there now, thanks to some cracking people, including the marina staff at Southsea who have been just wonderful!
Look out for my truck; it'll be out and about by the marinas and boat yards: Port Solent, Wicor, Portchester, Gunwharf Quays, Southsea Marina - in fact anywhere on the Eastern side of Portsmouth Harbour. Spot the truck and I won't be far away!
My little Westerly has gone off to a new home now, I just didn’t get the time to sail her, but she’s not far away. In fact she’s now moored about 200 yards from where she used to live on the Itchen! I miss not having my own boat – so I expect I’ll be back in the marketplace again soon!
The old credit crunch started to bite in the late summer, but thankfully things seem to be whizzing along nicely again, with boats selling right across the range. We’ve discovered Facebook

I have just completed the sale of my Sea Ray 230, using the broker services of Boatshed Port Solent, and Ian Dawes in Particular.
My boat has been moored at Port Solent, and Ian has maintained a very close interest in the preparation, advertising, viewing and administration of the sales process...throughout that period, Ian has kept me constantly up to date on the state of the market, the value of my boat, similar boats for sale, and in particular chasing up interested parties.
