Established in 1999, Boatshed is one of the largest yacht and boat brokerages globally, with much of its success built on working with and developing its teams. Today we are represented in over 70 locations in 18 countries by more than 120 local brokers and franchisees.

If you're interested in joining Boatshed but aren't able to commit to a Franchise licence then why not consider Modular Brokerage?

Modular Brokerage is a way of offering different levels of access to our Boatshed systems. We break down the sale of a boat into 5 processes and each process is worth a 20% share of the commission once the boat is sold. If you are working within modular you have the opportunity to earn up to 60% of the commission without any upfront costs to join the team.

How does it work?

Process One (Listing):

LISTINGS! LISTINGS! LISTINGS! Our business relies on having boats for sale, all you have to do is find them! This may sound easy but it's generally the hardest part of working with a yacht brokerage.

If you find boats to sell, you will receive a 20% share of the commission once it sells.

Process Two (Local):

Once the customer has decided to sell their boat we need a person on the ground who will be able to carry out all the local elements of selling a boat. This will include; meeting with the owner, recording the boat information and taking photos, uploading to the Boatshed software, attending viewings/surverys/sea trials and any other local liaison.

If you carry out the local liaison, you will receive a 20% share of the commission once the boat sells.

Process Three (Broker):

When the boat is listed the broker will carry out all the elements of selling a boat including; valuation of boats, handling enquiries, liaising between vendor and purchaser, managing offers and negotiation, arranging surveys and sea trials, closing the deal and post sale services,

If you carry out the broker role, you will receive a 20% share of the commission once the boat sells.

Process Four (Admin) & Five (Platform)

Under Boatshed Modular, processes four and five are always carried out by the HQ team. This will include; producing marketing campaigns, advertising the boat on all major boating portals, management of secure client funds, production of marketing material, Insurance, Marine Trade Association Membership and supply & support of the Dashboard and website, basically everything behind the scenes.

What's the next step?

Boatshed offers flexible working and many of our modular agents have worked with Boatshed alongside their current employment. Some even deciding to work full time as they were enjoying themselves so much and a few now have exclusivity running their own brokerage under a franchise licence agreement.

You don't necessarily need experience in Yacht Brokerage as we offer training and support, however you will need to have an interest in boats, after all you will be selling them! We just hope you enjoy working and interacting with people and are willing to work under your own initiative.
